Newcastle Palestine Solidarity Campaign & Tyneside Stop the War coalition stand in solidarity with Khadar Adnan who has now reached his 61st day on hunger strike in an Israeli prison. We share Khadar’s opposition to the use of administrative detention, torture, inhuman & degrading treatment by the Israeli government and we support his protest to defend the rights of Palestinians to live in dignity and freedom. We also give our support & deep concern to Randa Adnan, their children and family.

We hold Israel accountable for the life of Khadar Adnan & find it reprehensible that the Israeli State continues to violate International Law and international institutions refuse to intervene to prevent injustice.

Dear, Khader Adnan

No amount of words can describe how sad and at the same time angry I feel, for what you and your family are going through right now. I‘m sorry that you’ve been denied to live a dignified life and more so the deafening silence of the international community breaks my heart. I cant comprehend how this can be happening in this day and age.

I wish there was something I could do to ease your pain, I feel so hopeless.. all I can do is pray for you, my brother in Islam. I pray that Allah eases your pain and suffering. I pray that Allah gives you and your family patience to deal with this terrible ordeal.

I want you to know that in my eyes you’re a true hero! The epitome of courage.. your bravery, commitment and steadfastness inspires me and so many others to fight for what we believe in. You’re sacrificing your own life for justice, equality and freedom. I pray that Allah rewards you immensely for your struggle for justice. If justice escapes you in this life, know that one day.. true justice will be served by the one that created all of us!

May Allah bless you and your family, you’ll always be in my prayers

Salaam,

Suad

To the children of Khader Adnan

I hope that your father is released from prison and able to embrace you again, I hope that he gets a chance to hold his unborn child.  We've been reading a lot about him since his hunger strike began and we wish get down on our knees before your family and apologize and beg for your forgiveness that we are not able to do more for him.  Your father remains an inspiration to people around the world that have never met him.  Palestinians are placing hope in our destiny and quest for liberation in his empty stomach.

Yearning to breathe the air of the true a7rar,
