Greetings from Scotland

Dear Mr and Mrs Adnan,

The courage that both of you are showing in your resistance to the illegal and unjust occupation of your land by Israel is incredible to behold.

Nonetheless, there is much pain and anguish in your situation too, and there seems little I can say that will in any way lessen this for you, or for your children.

In the 1990s I lived for a time in occupied Palestine, and visited Gaza several times. I know that your struggle is a righteous one, and I have tried to be involved in supporting the Palestinian right to freedom ever since. Your strength and perseverance in the face of overwhelming military power is an inspiration, not only to Palestinians that I have spoken to, but also to those who support the Palestinian struggle for freedom from occupation. There will be no rest until your Palestinian homeland is free of the Israeli occupation.

May God bless us all,

Michael Marten
